Weekly Travel Theme: Mountains

This week the travel queen Ailsa has given us the prompt of Mountains and suggested we find some that were snow-covered. I live in the valley of what the residents here call mountains and although we have gotten more snow than last year it’s nothing compared to years past, still I got what I could.

My friends and family that live out west call these hills. I haven’t been “out west” so I will have to take their word for it and then ignore them; because around here we call them mountains (actually sometimes we also call them hills).

  1. These are breathtaking – make me homesick for the Smokies. I love the Rockies (especially the Canadian Rockies) and the Tetons and so forth, but the Smokies will always have first place in my heart. Are these part of the Appalachians?
