I know I have posted about my love of music and especially live music, before. I live in a small town of about 6,000 people. Here we have a small Cafe that hosts an open mike every Sunday evening. They also have live music the rest of the weekend but Sundays are the only ones I am off work to enjoy it. This is a tight-knit community and the local musicians have an even tighter group. I’m not a musician, I just enjoy the shows; some folks might call that a groupie Aaahhh, so be it.
Two months ago we had a fund-raiser for one of our local musicians battling cancer. It was a wonderful turnout and I was pleased to be a part of it. But being pleased is one thing and being blown away is quite something else. We had many seasoned performers and of course as always their talent enriched and entertained but what always gets me is the young people. Those kids who have not had years to hone their voices or their presentations. the talent is so raw and honest you can’t help but be; well, blown away.
