Animal Behaviors Page 3: Many people have sighed for the ‘good old days’ and regretted the ‘passing of the horse,’ but today, when only those who like horses own them, it is a far better time for horses. ~C.W. Anderson
I find horses a little less perplexing than some of the other animals I encounter. Horses seem friendly and not fearful of you. In fact they act like maybe you might have a little something for them. I never do, sad to say.
I have said it before and I will say it again. “I am not an animal person” so giving a horse a treat while emotionally sounds good to me I would be too fearful of an overzealous horse eating from my hand, not to mention horse slobber; sorry, but ew.
I was recently out and about getting some beautiful autumn shots for my portfolio when at the end of my trip I spied two horses in a field. I pulled over and the first horse greeted me with a smile.
It was one of those times when I wished I had a treat and I wished I would be brave enough to give it to her she was so sweet. I took many pictures of her while the other horse practically ignored me. I talked to her but ever fearful never petted her or got too close.
I was just about to leave when the other horse walked over and showed me what I can only guess was his best side. He stopped in a sideways position and I watched as he arched his back and stood tall and then he kind of just looked at me as if he was waiting for me to take my shot.
I’ll be damned; I think that horse just posed for me. What do you think?
