This week’s A Word in Your Ear photo challenge is Weather.
Last June I asked my (former) fiancé if he would take me to Florida for my birthday. He wanted to take me on a cruise but I wanted to see my Godmother; my favorite aunt I hadn’t seen in 16 years and she lives in Florida.
So he agreed to take me. Now we are not rich folk, or well to do, I doubt that anymore we would even be considered middle class so a trip to Florida was a stretch for our budget. Because my time off was limited we opted to fly so that we would have more time in Florida visiting family and seeing the sights.
We arrived in Tampa on my birthday, June 22 just ahead of Tropical Storm Debby, a phenomenon for this time of year.
- This is one of the first shots I sent home via my facebook page. I said the red solo cup was telling. There was a party but we missed it.
- During our (very long) wait at the airport for our return flight we looked at some souvenirs. We couldn’t find any with the palm tress bent over like they had been for our entire visit.
- We didn’t picnic here this day. In fact we were lucky to squeeze in some picture time during a lull aka as the calm before the (real) storm.
- My friend just had to get his toes wet.
- A few other beach goers fought the wind to join us.
- The beach patrol coming to tell us to get off the beach.
- This was as close as we could get to the Sky bridge. It was closed the whole time we were there.
