This week completes our five week Chinese Elements Challenge from Cee Photography.
In this beautiful valley where I live we have plenty of earth and plenty of harvesting going on. I have wonderful pictures of the apple orchards we are famous for, the pumpkins, gourds and squash that are so plentiful in the fall; and let us not forget how Virginia is becoming serious wine country. I have beautiful pictures of those grapes at their plumpest and at their most liquid form.
But today I decided to share pictures of the corn stalks and fields at their different levels of maturity that also occupy much of this land. Politics aside there is nothing like a fresh ear of summer corn doused in sweet butter and freshly ground pepper. Yum! (Is it summer yet?)
