My favorite pattern is checkerboard. Trouble is I don’t have a lot of pictures of checkerboards. When I was a child my grandmother, who worked for the pentagon in Washington DC took me into the US Capitol once to use the rest room. I don’t know why else we were there. I was very young and I don’t remember. We were not sight-seeing I do know that.
What I do remember was the floors. The floors are done in a black and white checkerboard pattern and I have been love with that ever since. There was a time, before my first husband and I split up that I planned a bathroom around the theme. We were in the middle of a renovation to our home when our marriage imploded and I never did get my black and white checkered bathroom. But hey, I ain’t dead yet, so it could still happen.

I almost forgot about this week’s photo challenge Patterns until I saw it appear in my reader from some of my favorite bloggers. I got this in just under the wire. 😉
