August’s Lingering Look at Architecture: Sandy Hook Elementary

This is our elementary school here in Strasburg. We are one of the many communities across the country that share the name of our school with that fateful elementary in Connecticut. You can be assured that on December 14, 2012 we collectively bowed our heads and whispered “But for the Grace of God…”

This is the school all three of my children (long since graduated) attended as little ones. This is the school I volunteered to read to their classmates, work in the library, and deliver cupcakes for their birthdays. I have a lot of very special memories associated with this brick and mortar building and sitting here thinking of them makes me smile.
