Last week my friends and I visited Belle Grove in nearby Middletown Virginia for their Christmas tour of the mansion. Of course we weren’t allowed to take pictures in most of the house but they did allow all we wanted in what was once the slave kitchen.
They had a few Christmas trees down there and I captured some shots of the homemade crafted ornaments.
The docent allowed our group to go up through the part of the house used as office space so that we didn’t have to follow the normal route of the tour and be subject to the cold. This caused us to separate just slightly and I ended up ahead of everyone else. I managed to get off one shot, of this beautiful Christmas Tree before being informed of the “no picture” rule. This picture does not do it justice!

We need to take our chances in order to get the good stuff. Nice (sneaky) shot, Dawn.
