I have plenty of time these days
That’s what being alone allows me
Notice I didn’t say loneliness.
That’s what making my own schedule allows me;
Time to do the things I want
Time to think
Sometimes too much time to think
I am master of my own time
I grab my camera
I don’t think about things I don’t want to think about
I think about the sky and the clouds
I think about the light as it shimmers across the snow covered field
I think about sunsets
And am reminded of what I don’t want to think about
This post is in response to the 100 word writing challenge from Velvet Verbosity where we are asked to write 100 words inspired by a single prompt. This week’s word is Shimmer.

Fabulous pic. Fabulous words. Alone has it’s advantages. Not alone has it’s advantages. It’s tough to have both. When Jeff’s working in Atlantic City, and I stay home alone all week, I try to remember how lucky I am. I get to have both. I do get lonely, sometimes, but I am really trying to see the best of any situation. It took me long enough.
Great post.

Thanks G, and I agree about the advantages and disadvantages. Alone is not really my choice but what life has dealt. I’m okay with that. I have to be.
