From November 2011 to December 2012 I was engaged to be married to a man I had dated since 2010 and known since 1979. It was a whirlwind romance but it imploded. To explain why is too complicated and one sided for me to attempt. Instead of focusing on the end I am focusing on the middle when we were knee-deep in romance. Hopefully enough time has passed I can make this post without repercussions.

Those are precious memories that you can treasure. I still believe it’s true that it’s better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. Loving someone makes us better people — even if that love never brings us the end results we hoped for.

I’ve never fully understood the societal norm that you have to never see someone again who once meant so much…after some sort of break-up (even see them in a picture!). Beautiful pictures, as always.
