Velvet Verbosity: Chit Chat as Stress Relief

Life has been crazy out of control. First there was a health issue, then the furnace, next it was the plumbing. The coldest winter in years was taking a toll on my old house and my bank account. Every time I think things are settling down something else happens.

The optimist in me says that this is just a moment in time and that it will pass but the pessimist knows that these are the kind of things that can take you down. At my age sometimes when you fall you can’t get back up.

Lunch with girlfriends always helps.

  1. ….the plumber only just left after four days on a job he said would be done in one day. I kinda hear you 😉

Hope you’re through the thick of it now and things are on the upward curve again.

  2. I’ve never participated in this challenge, Dawn, but you always make it look interesting. I think I’ll jump in this week. That’s how I got started on the Bus stories as well — reading yours. Sometimes I get busy and often can’t keep up, but when I can they are really fun.

  3. Lunch with girlfriends, bubble bath and scented candles, or just snuggle with a good book or glass of wine… One of the many things we can do to lift our spirit… Happy thoughts…

    • Sometimes I visit wineries on the weekends alone. Half way through a tasting I am gossipy and a bit giggly (we do what we must. GF time is too important to ignore or let fall by the way side just because your girlfriends are not handy. Improvise!) 😉
