This week’s quote was authored by Dale Carnegie. I hadn’t heard of him but I had heard of at least one book he wrote: How to Win Friends and Influence People, the first best-selling self-help books ever published. It was first published in 1936, and has sold 15 million copies world-wide. I’ve never read this book, just the title in this day and age makes me squirm although I imagine the 1936 edition might be quite entertaining to today’s standards. An updated version was published in 1981 but even that sounds dated.
Obviously I didn’t pick this quote for it’s author, not to take anything away from what was probably ground breaking advice 78 years ago. I chose it for the beauty of the words, Mr. Carnegie was obviously a three dimensional person.
