Thanks to all that participated last week and welcome to those who join us now.

This challenge is very laid back. Join us when you can. It runs Thursday thru Thursday; jump in any time. Tag your posts A Lingering Look at Windows and so we can catch you in our readers.

I am only including one window today. I shot this very recently. I find its message extremely thought-provoking.
This is the sign on our local ABC (alcoholic beverage control) store window.

ABC(C)

My thoughts are: okay we’ve earned the state 8.2 billion dollars through the sale of alcohol but at what cost? Don’t get me wrong, I am not in favor of prohibition, every one knows I enjoy my wine on occasion. But I am a realist and a former bartender. I’ve seen the devastation on lives and families that alcohol wreaks and that’s without even taking drunk drivers who kill and maim into the equation.

There is a lot of money to be made in the sale of alcohol and people are going to drink one way or another; history has proven that. It is better to be made legally than illegally, history has proven that also.

I think it is in poor taste to post this sign and brag but since they (the state of Virginia and its ABC board) did, let’s talk about marijuana….
