Last week I went with my best friend to celebrate my birthday. I had already been out with one friend the day before and another the day before that. No matter, time with her is always the most special. We visited Middleburg Virginia. Middleburg is a beautiful town with that historically quaint feel to it that is so popular in this part of the country.
We enjoyed a wonderful wine tasting at Chrysalis Vineyard then went to lunch at The Red Fox Inn, a pretentious little joint with over priced wine (we drank water) and delicious sandwiches (we ate every crumb!).
Next we headed to another local winery, which unfortunately was not near as good as the first but the conversation and the weather more than made up for it.
A few years ago Laurie and I decided we would rather spend money on experiences and time together than birthday gifts. So imagine my surprise when after this beautiful day she also pulls out a present!
Of course I said “You shouldn’t have!”
“How could I not? It’s a daisy and it’s yellow; it’s you!”
I love that woman!
Happy belated birthday, Dawn.
