Five Sentence Fiction: Darkness

He waited for her on the sand, the sounds of the surf crashing behind him in the darkness.

The rides on the pier lit up the beach as he watched his pregnant wife walked toward him.

He barely knew this woman who was carrying his child, this woman he had married less than 24 hours ago, because his father told him it was the right thing to do.

He felt trapped and suffocated and his jaw clenched as the anger raged in his chest.

If he was going to be stuck in this life he was going to control it; starting with her.

    • Ypu know, I just was taking a picture of the ferris wheel and this couple was in my shot. I had planned to crop them and when the prompt came in I knew which pic to use for :darkness” . THEN the story happened. It was his body language.
