Velvet Verbosity: Secure

I think I am finally secure in my own skin. My 50th birthday has long since passed but it took until now for me to feel the confidence I have always faked. Turns out I am not alone. There are a lot of fakers out there. It’s okay to fake confidence until you find it. Consider it a dress rehearsal.

Some people have reached this level of self-assurance long before I did. But you can’t often tell, they have become so good at faking it.

I don’t need to fake it anymore and it’s very liberating.

What a great age!

  1. Yep – one thing the younger set deal with is the expectation of be more than they are. Once you get a bit older, everyone accepts you as you are.

  2. Amen. It took me many years to like and accept myself as I am, and I wouldn’t want to go back and do it again. I’m so glad you’re secure in your own skin, and that you shared it with the world.

    God bless you,
    Cheryl
