Velvet Verbosity: The Beast that is Horse

I am always awed and amazed, by the powerfulness and gentleness of the beast we call horse. To gaze at their muscular form, their silken mane and tail is a treat for the non-animal person that is me.

I love horses. I wish I could overcome my fear and talk to them. I feel like they each have their own personalities. Some are friendly, some look fierce, some can’t be bothered, and some look like they wish you would try to ride them just so they could dump you on your arse.

If I could just get them to smile.

Smile for me Horsey

This post is in response to the 100 word writing challenge from Velvet Verbosity where we are asked to write 100 words inspired by a single prompt. This week’s word is Beast.

  1. I don’t think their real life faces work like Mr. Ed’s, smiling I mean, but work on the fear and get past it. There is nothing like stroking that mane or those beautiful bodies. My days of riding are certainly over, but I can’t pass those beasts by without being in awe and touching. It sends chills down my spine.
