I went to the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC over the weekend, primarily to see Multiverse, a light show in the corridor that separates the East and West buildings. Of course I have been to this gallery before but upon entering I realized it had been a long time.
I didn’t do much research before my trip but my friend did and found out the special exhibit was
Little Dancer, age 14 by Edgar Degas. This picture is not from the exhibit room but of another mold of the original sculpture. I found this young woman expressing herself by sketching the dancer. We had a brief conversation about what we thought was in her (the dancer’s) mind before I went on and she went back to “work”.
