Velvet Verbosity: Robbed, But Not of Dreams

This post is in response to the 100 word writing challenge from Velvet Verbosity where we are asked to write 100 words inspired by a single prompt. This week’s word is Robbed.

I push my cart through the super store. I see the young mother, with four boys aged 5-10, two of whom surely must be twins, or maybe not, they look so much like their mother there is no denying them.

None of their coats fit them.

The mother, I know her heart. She is trying to make ends meet without seeming to be poor.

Those boys will never think they were robbed in their childhood but will work to pay her back as adults.

My writer’s mind will write the story that will give them the life she dreams of.

Robbed, But Not of Dreams(w)
