Said the Tree to the Tree

I never wanted to be this stark, this naked, this exposed.
I tried to hide my vulnerability season after season but the winters are cruel.
I bend to their wind and their frigid temps, never believing I will be warm again.
And then summer wraps me in green, giving me hope, and a reason to live.
I lift my arms to the sun of summer and rejoice in his glow.

  1. Lovely, Dawn. It takes a very optimistic heart to see spring and summer through this picture. Very nice. Thank you so much for taking part. I am struggling, but I’m determined to write one yet.
