Word Press Weekly Photo Challenge: Ephemeral

I had never even heard the word Ephemeral (click the word for the meaning) until it was announced as this week’s Weekly Photo Challenge. I’ve thought a lot about it since then and have decided that it could be applied to any number of things. Time, as we know it, is relevant, and the older I get the more I see life in general as ephemeral.

I’m fond of saying “this too shall pass” when describing hardships but also in describing good fortune. It seems I have seen much of it come and go.

Nothing is more fleeting, I have decided than youth. Whether it be my own, that of my children, or my grandchildren. Whatever age they are now, they will not be tomorrow. It was with this in mind that I enjoyed my grand nieces on Sunday.

My nieces. A moment in time.

  1. I knew the word, but it was mostly associated with ghost stories. I like your interpretation. 🙂

  2. You nailed it, Dawn. I have to agree with youth as I observe how much our grandkids change from one visit to the next.
