Five Sentence Fiction: Entrance

I saw him standing above me, his hateful words flying from his mouth mixing in the air with his drunken spittle but I was not afraid.
I somehow knew his words could no longer hurt me any more than could the back of his hand.
I felt a sense of peace that I had never experienced during my young life.
My body lie broken on the floor but I felt no pain.
Forgiveness filled my soul wrapping me in calm as I stole a final backwards glance at my earthly father.
