Velvet Verbosity: Graceful

This post is in response to the 100 word writing challenge from Velvet Verbosity where we are asked to write 100 words inspired by a single prompt. This week’s word is Graceful.

Jade hated it when her parents argued. When the volume got too loud she would sneak off to the park. She loved to watch the swans on the lake. She thought they were beautiful and graceful. She danced on the bank with them, pretending she was a ballerina. She jumped and twirled to the music in her head and at the end of her performance she bowed down, ducking her head like the swan.

This day she rose from her bow to the sound of applause. She looked into the eyes of the stranger who towered over her.

“Hello Jade”.
