Faces of The Gathering

These are the faces of The Gathering, a Native American celebration I recently attended. They begin by bringing the children in. There are 13 children, a significant number in many indigenous cultures. There are 13 full moons in a year, 13 spaces on the back of the turtle and 13 rows on a natural ear of corn, just to name a few. In Native American Indian culture the number 13 speaks to how, we are all related.

Next all veterans were invited into the circle and honored.

Finally everyone was invited into the circle to dance. I love the look of JoY on the faces of the participants.
