Last week we stopped at a park situated near mile post 99.65 of the C&O Canal and discovered a wonderful wood and metal bridge. This bridge was built in 1879 by Baltimore (Maryland) engineer, Wendell A. Bowman. It spans the canal and the Western Maryland Railroad.

What a marvelous find for wood and metal! I, too, took a photo of a bridge but a much less interesting one.
