Gloss, like the Cover of a Magazine

I work in the bindery for one of the largest printers in the world. We print (down the hall) and then bind (in my department) several magazines you find on your supermarket shelves and hopefully in your mailbox. When I think of gloss I think of the covers of our magazines. The magazine printing business, as you might imagine, is not what it used to be.

Do you still subscribe to any print magazines? If not, I would encourage you to do so. I have ten more years before I can retire. Thank you.

  1. You have a very cool job. I subscribe to Instyle and have years. Before that Glamour. Before that Seventeen. Instyle I think is magazine you need to have in your hands because a lot of it is pictures and ads. It does have articles but mainly I buy the magazine in print because I want to emulate some of the fashion trends. I get it free in my iPad too. That is good because I can click on the ads/stores where these items are found and try to find something similar where I live 🙂

  2. I do enjoy print magazines, I love the photos of national geographic. I get a great deal of my information from the internet, but I still think there is also something special about books and the Sunday newspaper when it lands on my doorstep.
