Loys Station Covered Bridge is one of three bridges near Thurmont Maryland that I pass on my way to Gettysburg PA. The other two I have already shared and can be found by clicking Roddy Road Covered Bridge and Utica Covered Bridge
The Loys Station Covered Bridge was originally built in 1848 but has been rebuilt a few times due to accidents, age and arson. The bridge, surrounded by a park, crosses Owen’s Creek. It’s a nice place to stop. Bring a picnic lunch and your camera!
I loved Covered Bridges.

I found that last image really interesting – a modern road leading to an old bridge. Great photos

Loved seeing these covered bridges. Of course now I’m reminded of the Clint Eastwood and Meryl Streep movie. 🙂
