Apple Blossoms: The Tail End

Autumn is my favorite season but spring ranks a high second. They both pose challenges to photographing them in their glory. Here in my neck of the woods, we have the Apple Blossom Festival in Winchester Virginia, a city just 25 miles to the north of my home in Strasburg Virginia. The festival begins this weekend but just as that more famous festival, the Cherry Blossom, which carries on an hour eastwards, you can’t predict the blossoms and can only hope their bloom will coincide with the festival set to honor them.

You gotta be quick to catch an apple blossom. Last week (or so it seems) the trees were bare, this week, they are almost green.

  1. I love blossom but it is so fleeting. Just noticed some pink blossom on the walk to the post box today. Must take the camera out and capture it before the wind blows it all away!
