Wilkins Benefit at Piccadillys Public House

Last week I attended a fundraiser for local musicians Ricky and Amanda Wilkins. Ricky died June 4th after a brief fight with lung cancer. He leaves behind a wife and two young daughters. Sundays event was a wonderful tribute to his legacy. We raised a good amount of money, enjoyed each other, and really came together as a community.

Twice we were brought to tears. Once when Robbie Limon’s 86-year-old mother-in-law played Ava Maria on her violin and again when Amanda sang a cappella tribute to her late husband.

It was a send off Ricky would have been proud of.

The next benefit for the Ricky Wilkins family will be Saturday, June 18 6-9pm at the Woodstock Cafe. Another great lineup is scheduled with some of the best entertainers in the valley including Mark T, Bugsy Cline, and Bill Vaughan.

A $10.00 donation will be accepted at the door. All donation proceeds to benefit The Wilkins family
