Music Monday: 1985

With all the craziness in the world today I find it both comforting and disturbing that this song resonates as deeply as it did 31 years ago. 31 years ago, wow, did I just type that? We Are the World. was number 20 for 1985 but for longevity, it’s much closer to number one!

Music Mondays

I have created an album on my facebook page called Words to Sing By to accompany this weekly post. Check it out!

          • Yes, we all do. My friend Steve, tells me that we need to change our thinking if we want to reach others. Everyone wants to be noticed, thus a good reason for links. However, I can’t get past the fact that if I have a choice of spending my time reading or writing, I often choose writing because I just have to communicate what I think. Now, possibly if I spent all my time talking, I might feel differently. But often I am not able to get my thoughts on the table. Words, yes, thoughts no. So if I want to share my thoughts, I need to write them first. 🙂

            • I get that. But therein lies part of the problem. It takes me a good hour or more to create a post for Music Mondays. I search out the song link up and agonize (a bit ) over the lyrics. I choose the lyrics i want to highlight and a picture I think will match and then create a poster. I put a lot of me into it and mostly I just want to hear (or read) “Me too!”

            • I agree wholeheartedly. I spend at least that, and sometimes two or more hours on a post. It’s amazing how time flies when you process photographs or create artwork, not to mention all the writing and editing involved. 🙂
