Friday Fictioneers: Looking for a Flame

Leslie, a successful businesswoman in her mid-thirties, first met Paul at a friend’s party when he swooped in with a drink before she could remove her coat. Leslie was flattered by the attention but gave Paul the once over and decided he wasn’t her type.

Leslie liked younger men, much younger. The problem was that Leslie wanted to marry, settle down, and have babies but the younger men weren’t interested in that.

Paul felt her snub him but didn’t give up easily. Paul was ready to settle down and have babies and a younger woman was just his type.

  1. Dear Dawn,

You did a masterful job of loosely tying your story to the prompt by the title. Love it. I hope Paul doesn’t give up. It sounds like they could have a future. Nicely done.

    Shalom,

    Rochelle

And perhaps, they will hit it off, right? Who knows?!
Well-told, charming story of seeking love and marriage!

(Sorry about my late response to your story! My computer is kaput, and I’m borrowing my husband’s. The Apple Store Genius Bar will be happy with my upcoming expenses!)
