Friday Fictioneers: The Rage of Matthew

Elizabeth started dating Matthew in high school. He was a popular guy and as his girlfriend, Elizabeth made lots of new friends. From the homecoming dance to graduation Elizabeth and Matthew were part of a group that dominated every room. Elizabeth’s confidence soared and by the time she left for college she made friends easily.

Matthew did not like that his girlfriend moved away. He fought with her and accused her of cheating until she broke up with him. When he showed up at her apartment crying one Friday evening Elizabeth felt sorry for him and let him in. They found her the next morning, the imprint of Matthews rage still visible around her neck.

  1. Hmm, I suspect the signs of jealousy and his controlling nature showed up early in the relationship. I think you almost told the reader too much here. There wasn’t anything to figure out or left for interpretation. Not a bad thing–just my opinion.
