Friday Fictioneers: Saving Grace

Grace heard music and followed it. She saw Adam. He was holding out his hand to her. She reached for it but then she felt a great weight holding her back. She heard her mother crying “No Grace, don’t go” but Adam was beckoning. He was so beautiful and she longed to be with him.

Her head hurt. The music faded as her mother’s cries grew louder. She opened her eyes and found herself in a strange bed, her mother sobbing in her lap. Her father smiled at her. “Welcome back Grace”. She looked for Adam, but he was gone.
