George Harrison wrote While My Guitar Gently Weeps and recorded in 1968 for The Beatles White Album. But the words to this song mean nothing without the soulful guitar riffs. Many people have covered this tune, most notably Eric Clapton, who played in the original recording without being credited and Tom Petty who strummed out an awesome rendition with Prince blowing everyone away with his solo. But as good as that was, I love this cover by Carlos Santana and India Arie (who I had barely heard of before discovering this on Youtube).
I have created an album on my facebook page called Words to Sing By to accompany this weekly post. Check it out!
