The window
It’s just a piece of glass
and a pane
I used it to look in
or look out
that’s its function
really
It lets in sunshine
and the cold
Look outside
there it is
all we want
right outside the window
beauty
friendship
success
it taunts us
but if we stare long enough
we can see the dirt
there is hatred out there
crime
evil
darkness
and rain
There is so much more to a window
than glass and a pane

April brings us National Poetry Writing Month, where one writes a poem a day for the entire month of April. I’ve decided to combine this exercise with the A to Z challenge.
I’m a little rusty in the poetry department, so bear with me.

I enjoyed your photo and poem, Dawn. So much to ponder.
