Sandy was apprehensive about lunch with three of her oldest friends. Carrie’s husband had flirted with her for years and she always laughed it off. She had never considered that he might be unfaithful.
Last week she saw him at a restaurant having lunch with a much younger woman. It could have been a business lunch she supposed, but there was something in his body language that told her otherwise.
She felt compelled to tell Carrie and consulted the other two friends in their group. They decided, that like college, marrying, and raising children they would get through this together.

Dear Dawn,
I’m reminded of the First Wives Club. Carrie’s husband might be in for his comeuppance, eh? Good one.
Shalom,

I wonder why they were so sure that telling her was the right thing

I had the same thought as Rochelle. First Wive’s Club. There’s really nothing like women friends who gather round and hold each other up.

I understand the fear of telling the friend… One is always afraid this could backfire. However when one has a sold sisterhood… that changes things.

When we were very young my BFF’s hubby used to his on me ALL the Time! I finally told her and she didn’t speak to me for years…not until she divorced him. I hope I am NEVER faced with that again.

That’s what I mean. I never told my late friend her husband basically attacked me in the bathroom while she was passed out on the couch. I know no matter what, it would have been my fault. I often wonder if she ever did find out after their divorce and I’d that’s why we drifted apart. I’ll never know now

Good for the ladies. If you don’t love your wife and she is not your best friend, then go your separate way. But go your separate ways FIRST!

Girlfriends forever! Having a group that knows everything about each other would certainly bother the husbands. For good things – it’s great, but for sad things, mistakes, or regrets it could eventually cause hard feelings. Cute story!

Carrie probably knew about her husband’s affair. Because husband / wife knows when either is not respecting the relationship. Good that Carrie has her friends as support group.

A good and well-written story, Dawn. I also wondered if they should let her find out for herself. In fact, she might already know and is overlooking it on purpose. The thing that complicates this is the threat of diseases that can be passed around. Some people don’t have the sense they were born with. —- Suzanne
