We are a few weeks past peak color in my region as well as in the rest of the country but although most of leaves have changed, the maples are now enjoying their time. It’s as if they don’t mind being late to the party, and like to make an entrance; and what a wonderful display of orange, red, and in this one, yellow, they present.

We still have a few more leaves here, quite a few green leaves due to the warmer than normal temps. Nice that the maples are continuing the festival where you are!

I think you will find that your green leaves are mostly maples.

My Japanese maple is red on top and green on the bottom. Still confused!

Fall down and spring up…
The leaves in the fall turn from the top first to the bottom. In the spring they bloom from the bottom up. If you are surrounded by mountains…or as westerners would call our topography…hills…you can literally watch the seasons of spring and fall go up and down.

I love the maples. They’re showing out here as well. I missed photographing the most brilliant ones this year. Here’s my contribution this week: http://iamchandralynn.com/2019/11/21/thursdaytreelove-a-study-in-contrasts/
