Friday Fictioneers: Women Wearing White

The young women formed a double line up the escalator. They were dressed in white and it made others curious. Who were they? What were they going to do? Each woman kept her face solemn. There were no smiles, no laughter. It made the people slightly afraid. “Are they here to harm us? Are they a cult?”

But the curious followed. And there on the top floor the women gathered close. They linked arms while the onlookers scrutinized and judged. Together they raised their voices and sang as one. Together they were powerful. Together, here in this moment, they were heard.
