A few years ago when I was still working at The Press I came out of work one morning (I worked 12 hour nights) and found this pair of steeled toe shoes hanging in the tree. Someone had literally hung it up. I thought it was so funny I remembered to bring my camera back that night. Now with the plant closing, I was hoping to see hundreds of shoes but no one was quite as clever as this unknown person.

The Day After 
Great find, Dawn. I would also have taken a photo. You could write story about the fate of the shoes’ owner. 😀

I do not know who did it. I asked around, if anyone had gotten mad and quit or been fired but no one I asked seemed to know either.

It is strange, but there does seem to be a fashion of hanging shoes up high.
