Friday Fictioneers: In Love with the Crooners

The pub across from my office has karaoke on Thursday nights. Sometimes my friend Sally meets me after work for dinner. Because it is in the business district the clientele is often dressed from work, giving the room a classy vibe.

I met Steve there one night when I complimented him on his Sinatra croon. He invited me to hear his band on Saturday. It was a lot of fun; at first. Thursday karaoke, Friday and Saturday gigs or rehearsing with his band grew tiresome.

I left him for Joe, the accountant. He sings like Dean Martin.

  1. This story made me laugh at the end. I love how you tell such a complete story so fast, and I love how you use music to tell it. I haven’t written for Friday Fictioneers in a while, but you’ve inspired me to think about doing it now.
