I guess you could say my sanctuary is in my car. It takes me to some of my local favorite places that by just being there give me peace. Isn’t that the definition of sanctuary?
My favorite spot on Skyline Drive is just about mile post 10 where the poplars grow.
My favorite closest place to me is just about ten minutes away on Belle Grove Road.
My favorite place in Shenandoah County is at Meems Covered Bridge
I love visiting the State Arboretum (especially when the ginkgos are preparing to fall).
And last but certainly not least in The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley. The gardens are the best but….
…the inside has wonderful art and exhibits too.
This is where and how I find my peace.
Beautiful images Dawn, I especially love the scenery seen from the roads in different seasons. Thank you so much for your sharing your sanctuaries with us here 💜

A beautiful post Dawn, love that you chose your car, very clever! The entire set is wonderful but my favorite is the foggy snow scene. What a beautiful part of the country you’ve shared with us.
