Is cereal soup? Why or why not?
I have never thought about this and so I googled it. A it turns out there is quite a debate about this and after reading several responses I found myself agreeing with everyone. But in my heart of hearts I don’t think cereal is soup. Soup is savory and warm and delicious (I realize that by that definition gazpacho is not soup either and yet I stand by my definition). Cereal is soup as much as the ice cream we used to stir and stir until it was soft, therefore making it soupy, is soup. Then again, perhaps what I consider soup, is actually stew.

What are some interesting ways to answer everyday questions like “how’s it going” or “what do you do”?
Unless someone was trying to be rude by asking these questions I see no reason to be “interesting”. Most of the time these sort of questions come from acquaintances or people you just met. I do not think it is good form to be a smart alec with them. I’d rather they get to know me a bit before I put them off.

What was your favorite toy growing up?
My bike. I wish I still rode like that!

What brought gratitude, a smile or laughter to your life this week?
My son’s wedding was last week but this week I am back to work and back home, reveling in the experience and being able to share my stories with everyone.
I didn’t take a lot of pictures, I was enjoying myself too much, but I did take some (of course). Here is the lake house they rented with about 20 other people.

  1. Thanks Dawn for Sharing Your World! That house is amazing! How lovely that you got to enjoy it along with the rest of the day! I’m impressed that you Googled ‘cereal is soup”, because most folks who answered that thought the question was daft! Now I’m going to have to Google it too, because I’m interested in how they are similar/dissimilar… Fascinating! Thanks again!
