In your opinion, what should be humanity’s goal?
To leave this world better than we found it.

Are you hesitant to speak your opinions?
Yes. I didn’t used to be but we are so divided (as a country) any more and that is the way it is with me and, most of my family. So to keep the peace, I hold mine. We’ve had plenty of loud emotional arguments before and no one’s mind was changed. They know how I feel, so there really is no need to repeat myself.

In what ways has society changed during your lifetime? What do you think caused these changes?
So many ways! Many of them for good, although a lot of people look at the past through rose colored glasses. A lot of people want to go back to an era depicted on old black and white TV shows like Leave it to Beaver and The Andy Griffith Show. They fail to realize that was not real life. How many people of color would like to go back to that time? Very few I would guess. And women who want to go back are just not thinking clearly.

If you had a friend who spoke to you in the same way that you sometimes speak to yourself, how long would you allow this person to be your friend?
I don’t typically talk bad to myself, if that is what you are getting at. Oh sure, sometimes I admonish myself but I usually shake it off.

What brought gratitude, a smile or laughter to your life this week?
Lots! Dinner with three of my best friends, a play where we saw another friend in “action”, and I got my hair put back to it’s natural color! No more bad hair days until spring when the dampness frizzes my hair uncontrollably!
