Forsythia is one of those shrubs that looks amazing for a couple of weeks in the spring and boring for the rest of the year. I think every English front garden had one in the 1950s. Here the Gorse flower provides golden colour all year round.

Hmmm..you are right about forsythia, but I am not familiar with Gorse.
