I live near Shenandoah National Park where Skyline Drive offers beautiful vistas of the blue ridge mountains. But mountains is a relative term. We may call these mountains but my friends in Oregon call them hills.
I was recently on the drive where I drove a quick trip just high enough to see over them hills, enough, that is, to see where they get their name.
So beautiful up there Dawn, lucky you! Have driven the parkway several times but only once in autumn when it is so stunning!

Beautiful scenery. I lived in Oregone and they have huge mountains – the Rocky Mountains. We can call our hills here mountains if we want to. They are beautiful no matter their size.

Very true. I love the images that come out of Oregon. My BFF from high school and a cousin live there.

The Shenandoah are breathtaking. Henry David Thoreau says it best when addressing THESE hills. “It’s not what you look at that matters, it s what you see”. I think I first connected with you upon a trip through your area. I had always wanted to drive the drive. It was more beautiful and more cultural than I ever expected. The photo is such a reminder.
