Mrs. Foley is a very kind landlady, but she doesn’t like me staying out until 2 am. so when I arrive home at the boarding house, I tip toe to my room.
It’s none of her business of course, but I cannot afford to lose this place, so I try to keep her happy. But it’s not easy.
Fridays, I join my co-workers for karaoke. I’m 23, single, and love to sing. When I sing something sexy, all the fellas line up to buy me a drink and I lose track of time.
Daddy always said I was a wild child.

Dear Dawn,
I agree with Neil. She’s headed down a slippery slope as the saying goes. Nicely done.

I agree with Neil. Looks like she’s headed for trouble unless maybe the head of the boarding house sits down and has a long talk with her. Nice jump right into this character’s life.

Maybe one of these nights she’ll go home with one of those “fellas.”

As long as she knows where to draw the line, I think she’ll be OK, but who knows – the Landlady may have a point.

Dawn, I like the framework you build here of a larger story. I have my suspicions about Daddy 😦

Nothing wrong with a few karaoke songs, but too many drinks can lead to all kinds of trouble

Maybe she’ll meet one of the fellas and not have to live in a boarding house. Good one.
