About this Blog

I’m interested in photography first of all and I have a small business in which I make available landscape prints and even do some portraits upon request. I got rid of my website and only use facebook, Pinterest, and this blog to promote my work. I’d love it if you would like me on facebook.

Questions can be sent directly to me through my Contact Page.

I try to keep things organized and so I have a schedule that I (mostly) adhere to.

I love taking pictures and do so all the time. On Sundays I post what I consider My Best of the Week.

I tend to be fairly philosophical and I enjoy conversations of the same nature, asking what if and wondering why. On Mondays I post a weekly quote and it usually coincides with the things I have been thinking and talking about.

I have also recently added a music post on Mondays. One week I post something I am currently listening to and the next a song from my life (in chronological order). Click here to see what I have posted so far for Music Mondays.

I have wanted to be a writer since I was nine years old. On Wednesdays this blog is totally devoted to that aspiring interest when I stretch my Creative Writing/Fiction/Poetry muscle.

I have a monthly challenge which posts on the first Thursday (you can post and participate any time!) called A Lingering Look at Windows. I schedule this to post the first Thursday at midnight EST.

Saturdays I post more personal stuff that falls under the category of The Ups and Downs of My Life.

For the most part I have a system to my posts.I blog incessantly and schedule my posts while I work my day job (which is really a night job). I have an outline I follow (yes I am anal) but sometimes I stray (I am not that anal!). I’ve worked in manufacturing for thirty years so I believe in having a system. A system is what works: for me or for you, if it works, that’s a system.

Enough about me, enough about this blog, there are stories to tell and pictures to go with them.
Thanks for reading.

  1. G’day again Dawn, here I am back again with another challenge for you.
There’s no obligation Dawn, have fun if you want to join in!

The challenge is to just “post a photo each day for five consecutive days and attach a story to the photo. It can be fiction or non-fiction, a poem or a short paragraph and each day nominate another blogger for the challenge”.
I thought this would be ideal for you…

  2. I love how organised you are. Makes it easy for your readers to know when their favourite is being added too. I also like the eclectic photos, I especially like the yellow flowers highlighting the gorgeous Monarch butterfly.

  3. Good for you to be able to stick to a schedule. I’ve struggled with that no matter how much I plan. Sometimes I announce my plans before I know if they will work for me. Well not sometimes, most of the time. 🙂 Fun blog you have here.

  10. If it works, then it’s a system….well, I’m impressed by the way you have organized everything here. So far, my own system has been unable to present my blog properly. Hats off, Dawn!

  12. I’m very impressed by the number of posts you manage in a week, Dawn! I wish I could manage half your number you posts. I remember you doing a lot of photography and of course, flash fiction, when I was last on my blog, and hope to see some of your lovely work again. 😀
