Shoeless in the Sand

Jack slipped into the nearest alley. He pressed himself inside a doorway and held his breath as the police rushed by on the street. When he felt safe he took off running in the opposite direction. He had lost his keys, his wallet, and his shoes but he still had his phone. He called Pam.
She answered on the first ring.

“You shouldn’t be calling me”
“I need your help”
“You will get us both killed”
“That is not my plan. Please Pam, just once more.”
“What do you need?”
“Security S”
“What happened to your shoes?”
“Come with me and I will tell you”

  1. Please step out of your box more often. This is great fun and intriguing, especially the mysterious security S. You brought Jack and Pam to life in these few words.

  2. If Jack is a spy, he’s not a good one. He’s careless. 007 would never lose his shoes, keys, and wallet. I wouldn’t trust him with my life if I was Pam. Good writing, Dawn. 🙂 — Suzanne

  3. My, that’s stuffed with intrigue. So many questions you raise in the reader’s head that are left unanswered. I wonder if she’ll help him and if they’ll bith make it out alive? Really exciting, Dawn. Nice story
