It’s 3 o’clock Saturday afternoon and I just got the tent up. It took me all morning to get the house in order and my two sons and husband straight so I could leave them for a little overnight sabbatical. I am fifteen minutes from home at the nearby state park.
Its 24 hours of just me, nature, and my bible.
I live for this; this solitude. It’s better than shopping, or lunch with a girlfriend, even better than a mani-pedi.
I love my boys, I do, but…shhh…listen to that.
Breathe in…Smell that!
And now, I am going to read.

Haha..yes. Well this is sort of true. This is what my sister does in the summer. I only live with one male (my son) but I she has three and, well, I get it.

I live with one male and one female – my son and daughter. I could really go for this sometimes lol

Thanks Lain. I hadn’t intended it to be so. I originally planned on writing a story of infidelity to go with my other two stories today (Sunday Photo and Aspiring Writers) but this is what came out.

A long way from infidelity. Nice to have a quiet simple story sometimes.

Change the tent for a comfy hotel room, and I’m in! (Had my share of tent days!) I live with only males… the need to get away is, at times, overwhelming!

Oh my, yes, I know you do. I’m the same way about the camping thing. Been there, done that, not going back! 😉

Oh, this makes me want to go out and go “tenting tonight” because I forgot how much I enjoyed it when I was younger. The last time I camped out was in the Army! Haha!
Good job, Dawn!

We all need a bit of ‘alone time’ and what a wonderful way to spend it – in the tranquility of the woods. Gorgeous idea, Dawn

Yes, I don’t camp. Give me a hotel room or I will stay home. Of course I don’t live with three males, either!

Dear Dawn,
I could so relate to this. When people ask if I go with my husband to Sturgis I smile and say this is my vacation. I could feel her tense muscles relax. Nicely done.
