There have been many questions from my friends about the bridge in my photograph for the cover of Shenandoah Living Magazine, so I decided to do some research.
Since my series of photographs, Waterloo Bridge, one of the few remaining truss bridges in the state of Virginia has been closed to traffic, Left to deteriorate, it faces a possible future demolition. An interesting article from February 2017 describes it here.
But this bridge has many fans and supporters, including its own facebook page.
A public meeting will be held next week to determine its fate.
The Waterloo Bridge, a steel truss bridge, built in 1862, can be found west of Warrenton Virginia at the end of Old Bridge Rd (State route 622). It’s a beautiful bridge, in co,or, or in black and white.A marker indicating its significance is nearby.

It would be such a shame to lose this historical bridge, for lack of funding. 😦
